The Engine Shed is Lincolnshire's largest live-music and entertainment venue, set on the University of Lincoln campus at Brayford Pool (LN6 7TS) and run by Lincoln Students' Union. Opened in September 2006 and named after the railway locomotive shed that once stood on the site, it has hosted everything from breakthrough touring acts to established names since. The main hall holds around 1,500 standing (up to 1,800 with the balcony), with a smaller second room, The Platform, used for more intimate live shows and private hire. It's a full professional venue with in-house production, programming live gigs, club nights and community events.
