The Western is a traditional community local at 70 Western Road, Leicester, run by Michelle Lovell as one of three Everards pubs, serving Everards Sunchaser and Tiger alongside a refurbished bar, lounge and cafe (open from 8am). It has a large beer garden and a log-burning fire, with regular food, drink and music events including open mic nights and popular Northern Soul nights. Upstairs sits 'Upstairs At The Western', a pub theatre staging comedy, poetry, musicals, drama, music and improvisation. The venue has a house PA and welcomes originals and covers across mixed, soul and acoustic styles.
