The Crown & Sceptre is a seventeenth-century drinking house standing proudly on the old market place in the centre of Ross-on-Wye, now owned and run by Motley Hog Brewery. Live music is a regular fixture on a bill that also takes in karaoke, Northern Soul discos and the pub quiz, and there are acoustic evenings where people come along and take turns to play or sing. With Motley Hog's own beers plus two guest ales, a pool table and darts, it is a characterful, music-friendly town-centre local. The bar opens from noon Tuesday to Sunday and from 3pm on Mondays, running to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
