The Prince Albert is a stone-built Victorian pub at the top of Walkley Hill in Rodborough, just out of Stroud, with a big reputation for live music — bohemian, homely and welcoming all at once. Crucially, it's a recognised grassroots music venue supported by the Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery, with a 'little stage' that punches well above its weight: ticketed live music runs on Sunday and Monday evenings, and the year's programme spans an extraordinary range — from baroque and world music to folk, Tuvan throat singers, local indie bands and Stroud punks — alongside open-mic nights, stand-up comedy and film screenings. Two Beer and Music Festivals land on the May and August bank holidays each year. With its covered courtyard, secret garden and strong commitment to emerging local and original talent, it's one of Stroud's most important grassroots stages.

About Prince Albert Inn

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Prince Albert is a much-loved Victorian live-music pub on Rodborough Hill in Stroud, with a proper stage, lights, PA and mixing desk and a calendar that's booked solid through most of 2026 with curated gigs. Its recurring nights are a monthly Folk Session, a monthly Celtic Session, a Songwriters Stage and a monthly quiz — performers apply to play a gig rather than dropping in for an open mic, so we couldn't confirm a regular sign-up open mic still runs here. If you want to play, use the venue's 'apply to play a gig' route. Rodborough Hill, Stroud, GL5.
