The Brass Haus on Westover Road is one of Bournemouth's newer live entertainment spots, inspired by Germany's great Bier Kellers and underground music scene. The building has had several lives — a dance hall, a cinema and a 1970s restaurant — before becoming the Bavarian-themed bar it is today. Live music is the thing here, from soulful singers to upbeat bands, with a regular weekly rota of acoustic duos, DJs, comedy nights and live bands. Alongside the music the kitchen serves a true taste of Bavaria — pretzels, bratwursts and schnitzels next to British favourites like burgers and pizzas — plus Haus cocktails, characterful wines and a strong beer selection. Big-screen live sport (Premier League, rugby, boxing) rounds out the offer. Open noon till late through the week, with later 1am closes on Friday and Saturday.
