The Flower Pot at 25 Tavistock Street (MK40 2RB) is one of the three oldest pubs in Bedford and a proudly traditional, family-run house specialising in real ales and single malt whiskies. Thoroughly refurbished during the Covid period to bring in more light, it keeps a beer garden, real fire, dog-friendly bar and free WiFi. Live music is the heart of the place and it's always free: there's a jam night every Thursday, live acts every Friday and special acts on the occasional Saturday, with a regular gig diary listed on Lemonrock. The kitchen runs a comprehensive menu including an all-day breakfast and homemade soup made fresh daily.
