The Night
Hales Bar — one of Harrogate's oldest pubs, with a nationally listed gas-lit interior — runs a Sunday Gas-lit Acoustic Afternoon from 4pm, hosted by Ade Payne. It's a chilled afternoon of acoustic music with weekly guest performers and open mic slots, set among real ales and bar snacks at 1-3 Crescent Road (HG1 2RS). Free and welcoming — get in touch with the bar beforehand if you'd like a slot.
About Hales Bar
Hales Bar is one of Harrogate's oldest pubs, a Crescent Road institution with a nationally important Victorian interior on CAMRA's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors — original gas lighting still burns over the bar, and the snug Vaults Bar adds to the character (the pub even featured in Chariots of Fire). Live music is a fixture: karaoke every Thursday from 9pm, an 'Ultimate Cheese' music night on Saturdays, and a relaxed Sunday-afternoon acoustic session from 4pm hosted by Ade Payne with weekly guests and open-mic slots. It's a characterful, welcoming room for acoustic and folk performers in the heart of Harrogate.
