How do comments on a profile work?

Comments sit with a member's music. On a profile that has tracks, the Tracks section has a Comments button on the right; press it and the thread slides over the player, newest first. Press it again (it now reads "Back to tracks") to return to the music. A profile with no tracks has no comments.

Posting. You need to be signed in - if you are not, the thread shows Sign in to join the conversation instead of a box. Type in the box at the bottom and press Enter, or the send arrow beside it (its name is Post comment). Shift+Enter starts a new line. Comments are public: anyone looking at the profile can read them.

Removing your own comment. Your comments carry a bin icon - press it and confirm Delete. A deleted comment cannot be brought back.

On your own public page - open Profile and press View public at the top - you can look after the whole thread. Every comment shows two icons:

  • the eye icon (Hide comment) marks it hidden - press it again (Unhide comment) to bring it back;
  • the bin icon (Delete comment) removes it for good.

If you post too many comments in a short time, you are asked to wait a moment before posting again. If comments are switched off across GigXchange, the thread tells you so rather than failing quietly.

Comments are not reviews. A review is left after a completed booking - see how do I leave a review?
