How do I renew, relist or close my classified ad?

Your own ads live under My Ads on the Classifieds board — switch from Browse to My Ads at the top. An ad runs for 60 days, and each one shows its state: Live, Expired or Closed.

  • Renew puts an expired ad back up for another 60 days
  • Mark filled closes an ad you no longer need — do it as soon as the spot is taken, so nobody replies to something that has gone
  • Delete removes it for good

There is one exception, and it is the useful one. If your ad named a date — the gig you needed someone for, or the window you were free in — and that date has gone by, renewing on its own would put the ad back up invisible. So Renew opens the ad itself instead, keeps the old date on screen so you can see what needs changing, and asks you for a new one. Save it with Relist ad and the ad is live again for another 60 days, on the same link anyone you have already sent it to still has.

Relisting counts towards your live ads again. Simply editing an ad does not — it updates what readers see without restarting the 60 days.
