The Joiners is Southampton's iconic grassroots music venue — a 200-capacity room in a former pub (The Joiners Arms) on St Mary Street in the St Mary's district, which has been putting on live acts in its back room since 1968. One of the most storied small venues in the country, it has long been a key stop on the touring circuit for emerging and underground indie, rock, metal, punk and alternative bands, with a reputation for catching artists on the way up. Intimate, sweaty and fiercely independent, it remains a cornerstone of Hampshire's live-music scene and a fixture for original touring acts.
