The Jam Lounge at 60 George Street, Wakefield (WF1 1DL) — formerly The Polka Hop — relaunched as Wakefield's new premier live-music pub. It's a relaxed, music-and-community boozer with shabby-chic decor, comfortable sofas, board games and a well-kept real-ale and wine selection. The weekly rhythm is a Thursday open-mic night where any performer is welcome, a Friday quiz, and live music across Saturday and Sunday, giving local and acoustic acts a regular platform in the heart of the city.
