The Night
The Mail Coach on Derngate runs a weekly open mic every Thursday from 8:30pm, hosted by Charlie Sumner. It's a warm, town-centre British pub with a friendly crowd of local singers and players, and there's a house guitar and piano on hand — the host will even accompany you if he knows the song. Entry is free, just turn up and sign in on the night. The pub also runs a Monday quiz and live bands on Fridays, so it's a properly lively little spot.
