The Art Bar is an underground bar tucked beneath Perth Road in Dundee, directly across from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. By day it serves light snacks; by night it becomes a warm, low-lit space with a 1970s retro feel, local artwork on the walls and an easy-going crowd. It is a fixture of Dundee's grassroots scene, hosting folk music, regular open mic nights, casual DJ slots and live gigs from the city's up-and-coming bands. Performers are encouraged to bring instruments and get up to play — the room makes a genuine effort to listen — making it one of the friendliest small stages in the city.
