The Night
Trillians Rock Bar runs an Acoustic Open Mic Night every Wednesday in its cellar bar tucked away in Princess Square, opposite Newcastle's main library. It's the city's home of rock, metal, punk and everything heavy — so this is a refreshingly stripped-back, acoustic counterpoint in a properly characterful underground room. About Trillians Rock Bar
Trillians Rock Bar is Newcastle's dedicated rock and metal venue — a cellar bar tucked beneath Princess Square in the heart of the city (NE1 8ER), directly opposite the central library. It sits at the heart of the North East's rock and metal community and runs live bands several times a week, with a gig calendar spanning rock, metal, punk, hardcore, reggae, glam and beyond, mixing rising UK acts, international tour stops and crowd-pleasing tribute nights. The underground room pairs a no-frills bar with a punchy sound system that flatters everything from classic rock to extreme metal, hosting both original bands and covers acts — many shows are free entry, with some ticketed specials. A genuine institution of the city's heavy-music scene.
