About The Old Toll Bar
The Old Toll Bar is a grassroots music venue in Paisley Rd, Glasgow with a standing capacity of approximately 80. PA system and vocal mics are provided; bring your own instruments and amps.
The Old Toll Bar is a beautifully restored Victorian bar at 1-3 Paisley Road West in Glasgow's Southside, a ten-minute walk from the OVO Hydro and the River Clyde (G51 1LF). One of the city's most characterful traditional pubs, it hosts a well-loved Sunday afternoon open mic from 3pm to 7pm, free to perform and free to watch. A house guitar is provided and players get a free drink — a generous touch that keeps regulars coming back week after week. Just turn up; a PA and vocal mic are set up. Beyond the open mic the venue runs a varied programme including old-time sessions, salsa and blues dancing, live acts and comedy. Solo songwriters, duos and acoustic acts suit the room best; full bands should check with the host first.
