About Kanteena

Kanteena is a huge community-spirited, multi-use space built into a disused brewery in the centre of Lancaster's Canal Quarter on Brewery Lane (LA1 1QL), combining food, craft beer, live music and entertainment under one roof. It runs five spaces: the main room and gig space, the Atika bar, a huge beer garden with food and drink stalls, its own kitchen with Chai Thai street food, and an axe-throwing station. At full capacity it hosts up to around 700 people, making it one of the larger live spaces in the city and a key venue for Lancaster Music Festival. The autumn 2026 diary mixes local bands (Don't Tell Alice, The Gears and Cairo on 19 September), tribute nights (Muse and Foo Fighters tributes on 25 September), touring DJs (Todd Terry on 26 September) and student club nights through freshers' week. Programming spans gigs, club nights and community events across mixed genres.
