About Verdict Jazz Club
The Verdict is Brighton's only purpose-built jazz venue, a 60-seat basement clubroom at 159 Edward Street in Kemptown that The Guardian has named one of the top ten jazz clubs in Europe — and which took Jazz Venue of the Year in 2024. It welcomes jazz and blues talent from across the world every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night: food is served from 7pm, doors open at 7:30, the show runs 8:30 to 10:30 and the room closes at midnight. By day it doubles as a café serving coffee, sandwiches and hot meals above the underground clubroom.

Arrive by 19:30 to sign up for a slot. Entry is free and the open mic typically runs until 22:30. A PA is provided — bring your own instrument and amp.
