About This Open Mic
The Night
The Fiddler's Elbow is a famous Irish pub tucked into the Brighton Lanes, and its 'Sham-rock' open mic is a weekly Sunday fixture from 8pm, hosted by Evan Walsh. It's a lively, folk-and-Irish-leaning singalong night that often runs late, so arrive early to guarantee a slot — there's no formal list, it's first-come walk-in. Singers and guitarists make up most of the bill, with a warm, boozy, pile-in atmosphere.

About Fiddlers Elbow
Fiddler's Elbow is a dedicated Irish pub on Boyce's Street, right in the heart of Brighton's Lanes, pouring some of the best Guinness in the city alongside a wide range of international pale ales and English classics. It's a small, lively room (around 80 capacity) well known for its live music, keen prices and spectacular summer street parties. Live Traditional Irish Folk takes over every Monday night with an alternating roster of performers — one group rattling through Irish drinking songs in the vein of The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers and The Pogues, the other offering a more genteel instrumental "jam". There's also live music across three nights a week, DJs every Friday and Saturday, a Tuesday quiz, and big screens for GAA, Six Nations rugby and other sport. A proper craic-filled spot for folk and acoustic players in central Brighton.
