About This Open Mic
The Night
The Music Hall on Union Street runs a Family Open Mic in its Coda Cafe-Bar on the last Saturday of every month (except December, when it moves to the 16th), starting at 3pm. It's a warm, all-ages, family-friendly afternoon to share music and poetry — every ability welcome, and you can just come and listen if the stage isn't your thing. About Music Hall
Aberdeen Music Hall stands on Union Street in the city centre (AB10 1QS), one of Scotland's oldest and most historic concert halls — at the heart of the city's cultural life for nearly 200 years. Designed in 1820 by architect Archibald Simpson and opened as a concert hall in 1859, it reopened in December 2018 after a £9 million redevelopment. The main auditorium has excellent acoustics and a 1,300 seated capacity, with two smaller spaces (Big Sky Studio and the Tutti Creative Learning Studio). Operated by Aberdeen Performing Arts, it programmes everything from classical music and touring bands to contemporary comedy.
