About This Open Mic
The Night
Cowley Road Studios is a long-running recording-and-rehearsal complex on Cowley Road in Oxford, and its public-facing Workshop Café has hosted daytime open-mic afternoons (roughly 1pm–6pm on a Saturday). We couldn't confirm this is a fixed, ongoing recurring session, so check the studio's or café's Facebook for the next date before turning up to play.
About Cowley Road Studios
Cowley Road Studios at 118 Cowley Road is an independent creative-studio network and grassroots music hub in the heart of Oxford's Cowley Road scene. Continuing the Soundworks Oxford legacy (rebranded in 2024), it runs across two sites with professional recording, rehearsal, room hire and technical/AV services. The Cricket Road facility offers a 6m x 4m live room with backline, PA and drum kit, while the on-site Workshop Cafe doubles as a community space and small live venue. It's infrastructure built for Oxford's emerging artists — a place to record, rehearse and play across mixed genres, for both originals and covers. Roughly 120 capacity at the venue space.
