The White Bear is a town-centre pub at 11 Church Street in the heart of Barnsley (S70 2AH), with a warm, family-friendly feel, a beer garden and a menu of pub classics. It has carved out a niche on the local heavy-music scene: live bands play every Wednesday, with a punk, hardcore and metal leaning, while DJs take over Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7pm till late.
