The Black Prince is a large pub, live-music venue and beer garden on Abington Square in Northampton, launched in early 2016 and twice voted Best Local Live Venue by the Northamptonshire Music Awards (2022 and 2023). Its recently expanded indoor live room holds around 250, complemented by an outdoor garden stage that can take audiences of up to 400 — a rare double bill of indoor and open-air stages for a town pub. The programme leans into rock, psych, prog, indie and singer-songwriter acts, hosting touring names such as Rosalie Cunningham (ex-Purson) alongside local bands, and it was named Town Pub of the Season for Summer 2025. A genuine grassroots music hub for Northampton.
