The Tabernacle is a Grade II listed Victorian building (1887) on Powis Square in the heart of Notting Hill, London W11 (34–35 Powis Square). Originally a church and a community arts building since the 1970s, it now houses a theatre, music studio, gallery, bar and kitchen and a garden courtyard. The theatre holds up to 499 standing (270 theatre-style, 150 cabaret) and programmes live music, stand-up comedy, theatre, talks and film, with a particular buzz around Notting Hill Carnival. There's also free live music every Tuesday from 8pm in the bar & kitchen — a much-loved community arts venue with a strong grassroots music strand.
