Somerset House is an iconic neoclassical arts centre on the Strand in central London, set around an 18th-century courtyard overlooking the Thames near Covent Garden. Its open-air Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court is the stage for the Somerset House Summer Series — an 11-night open-air concert run (first launched in 2003, now a fixture of the London summer) that pairs internationally recognised headliners with emerging performers; the 2026 line-up features names such as The Flaming Lips, Benjamin Clementine and Naïka. Beyond music, the year-round programme spans art exhibitions, film screenings, craft fairs, workshops and the city's much-loved winter ice rink, alongside a clutch of restaurants and cafés.
