New Art Exchange is the UK's largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority, based on Gregory Boulevard in Hyson Green, Nottingham. Formed in September 2003 as Nottingham's first dedicated facility for Black contemporary arts, it runs an ever-changing programme of exhibitions, family activities, film screenings, symposiums and festivals alongside a live performance strand of music, dance and theatre. Its flagship music nights are the Friday Night Socials — free, twice-monthly events that mix live music, spoken word, performance and food, co-created with local artists and community groups. The flexible performance space holds up to around 90 people depending on layout, making it an intimate setting that leans towards world, soul, jazz, hip-hop and spoken-word programming rooted in the city's diverse communities.
