Drill Shed is a 750-capacity live music and cultural venue on the historic Margate Lido site at 1 Ethelbert Gardens, Cliftonville, opened on Friday 6 March 2026 by the team behind the Margate Soul Weekender and Olby's. Purpose-built for gigs, club nights and festivals, it sits in the gap between grass-roots rooms and large arenas with full sound and lighting infrastructure, flexible staging, backstage and artist facilities and a design built for quick load-in. The 2026 programme runs from Jalen Ngonda, Craig Charles and The Smyths through the Margate Soul Weekender (Incognito, Odyssey) to Reef, Mr Scruff, The Selecter, The Feeling, Shy FX and David Rodigan in the autumn, spanning drum and bass, electronic, indie, punk and ska, soul and reggae plus comedy and cultural events. A serious, ambitious independent room for the Kent coast.
