Chats Palace is a long-running community arts centre at 42-44 Brooksby's Walk in Homerton, Hackney, with a theatre and music room, gallery, studio, darkroom and bar. It has been an important local arts venue and music space for around three decades, with a civic mission to empower local people through the arts. It is the home of the Hackney Folk Club, whose 2026 season brought Whiskey Moon Face, Alkanna Graeca, Emily Portman, Mishra and the pairing of Bruce Molsky and Darol Anger, all on Thursday evenings from 7pm at 15 pounds, or 12 pounds for members. The wider bill runs well past folk - Marisa Anderson, FLETCHR FLETCHR, 1000 Rabbits and a staging of La Cenerentola all appear in the autumn 2026 listings. A genuinely grassroots room programming folk, world and community-rooted live music alongside theatre.
