The Torbay Inn is Paignton's oldest pub, a traditional house with separate lounge and public bars whose history reaches back to the early 1600s, when the sea was on its doorstep. Every Thursday from 8pm a group of resident musicians runs an open mic jam, hosting and backing local talent, and the pub puts on regular live music with a Northern Soul leaning. Add well-kept St Austell and Sharp's ales and it's a warm, community-spirited spot for grassroots live music.
