Gala Durham is County Durham's principal arts venue at Millennium Place, next to the River Wear, opened in 2002 and blending touring theatre, live music, comedy and cinema under one roof. The main auditorium seats around 500 (roughly 700 standing) on raked seating, with a separate studio theatre for intimate acoustic sets and a cafe bar. A full in-house PA and engineer support seated music, folk and jazz programming.
