The Other Place is the Royal Shakespeare Company's black-box studio theatre on Southern Lane, a short walk from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. Reinstated as a 200-seat studio in March 2016, it works as the RSC's creative hub for learning, research and development, with rehearsal rooms and a café bar alongside the auditorium. Programming is led by theatre but takes in folk, jazz and indie performance, and the room is run with a full in-house PA and engineer. The black-box format means the seating and stage can be reconfigured per production, so capacity varies with the layout.
