About The Belfast Barge
The Belfast Barge is a grassroots music venue in Lanyon Quay, Belfast with a standing capacity of approximately 110. Bring your own PA, mics and instruments.
The Belfast Barge books Blues acts. Both original music and covers are welcome. This listing is part of the Belfast venue directory.
The Belfast Barge is Northern Ireland's only floating arts centre — a converted barge moored on the River Lagan at Lanyon Quay, owned by the not-for-profit charity Lagan Legacy. Below deck sits a maritime museum celebrating Belfast's shipbuilding heritage; above, a fully licensed riverside bar/café and an intimate performance space that holds about 110 standing (90 theatre-style, 70 cabaret-style). Its programme spans live music, comedy and arts events, including blues shows tied to the Belfast City Blues Festival — for example a special solo set by Anthony Toner. The unusual on-the-water setting makes it one of the city's most characterful small live-music rooms.
