The Vulcan is a proper Walkden local at 94 Worsley Road North, on the Salford side of Greater Manchester. Live bands play every Saturday night from 9.30pm, and the pub runs a late licence at the weekend, staying open until 1am on Friday and Saturday.
It is a community pub first: big-match football nights share the calendar with the music, and the venue's own site warns that weekend hours flex around fixtures. Expect a friendly, up-for-it Saturday crowd rather than a ticketed-gig audience.
