After a shock closure it reopened with plans for expansion, craft beer and live music, and it frequently runs live-music nights, pub quizzes and televised sport in a friendly, dog-friendly community atmosphere. With a small standing capacity of around 80 and an in-house PA, it welcomes both original acts and covers — an intimate grassroots stage in central York.
