About This Open Mic
The Night
Union Mash Up is a creative bar and arts space on Princes Avenue in Hull, mixing music, poetry, comedy, cinema and theatre. It runs several open mics: Johnny Hamilton's acoustic open mic (doors 7pm, first act 7:30pm, just turn up to play), an Electronic Open Mic for synths, decks and devices, and Away With Words, a monthly spoken-word night. The acoustic night is a warm, walk-up evening of acoustic music running to around 10:30pm.

About Union Mash-Up
Union Mash Up occupies a former Edwardian butcher's shop at 22-24 Princes Avenue in Hull, run as a creative venue and eatery with a deliberately eclectic programme. Its 85-capacity function room comes with a house PA, lighting and air conditioning, and hosts a rolling mix of weekly and monthly events — acoustic music, spoken word and poetry, comedy, DJ nights, cinema screenings and pop-up shops. It's a relaxed, community-minded space for emerging and eclectic performers rather than a traditional band-booking pub.
