About This Open Mic
The Night
The New Adelphi Club's Musicians Night is, by its own cheerful claim, 'probably the longest running weekly open mic night in the known universe' — every Monday, now in its 39th year, and free as always. The first act is up around 8:30pm and it's a wonderfully open bill: stand-ups, poets, magicians and dancers are as welcome as musicians, with each performer getting three songs, poems, readings, rants or dances. Just turn up early if you want a slot at this UK Grassroots Venue of the Year (2022) institution.
About The New Adelphi Club
The New Adelphi Club is Hull's legendary grass-roots music venue at 89 De Grey Street in the Beverley & Newland area (HU5 2RU). Opened in October 1984 and run since 2017 as a community interest company, this tiny, fiercely independent club punches far above its weight — it has hosted The Stone Roses, Radiohead, Green Day and Oasis long before they were household names, and remains the city's beating heart for alternative, indie, punk, rock and blues. Its 2026 programme runs the full gamut, from Musicians Night and a regular Blues Open Mic to Warren Records showcases and full-blooded weekenders like BIZZLE FEST 2026 and the Hot Right Now Festival. Original acts and covers are both welcome, a house PA is provided, and the intimate room keeps you close enough to feel every note.
