About This Open Mic
The Night
Topsham Brewery's taproom at Maclaines Warehouse on Haven Road runs a friendly open mic on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, hosted by local acoustic-soul singer Emily Howard. Entrants are taken from 7.30pm with performances kicking off at 8pm — it gets busy, so turn up early to get a slot. A full PA and drum kit are supplied, there's a house guitar to borrow, and all abilities and genres are welcome.
About Topsham Brewery & Taproom
Topsham Brewery & Taproom occupies the historic Maclaines Warehouse on Haven Road in Exeter's Haven Banks quayside (EX2 8GR) — a working brewery and taproom with a dedicated first-floor events space above. The double-height entertainment hall has its own stage and roughly 160-capacity standing room, and in the evenings the place comes alive with live music and DJs, plus performances, workshops, dance classes and yoga. The booking is broad and grassroots-friendly, spanning rock, indie, acoustic, folk and electronic, with an in-house PA, drum kit and guitar amp available for visiting acts. The upstairs room is also offered for private hire. A genuinely versatile Exeter venue pairing fresh-brewed beer with a regular live programme.
