The Night
The Plough Inn on Station Road is a characterful Taunton boozer — open fire, bashed-up leather sofas and an upright piano in the corner. Sunday nights are the draw, with a rowdy, anything-goes mix of live music, open mic and jam session where locals bring guitars, voices and more. It's free to play and free to watch, and there's a piano on hand if you fancy it. A genuinely informal, community session rather than a slick showcase.
About The Plough Inn
The Plough Inn is a traditional, characterful pub at 75 Station Road, Taunton — a Tardis of nooks, comfy leather-sofa snugs, a log fire and even a secret passage. Sunday nights are the music nights, with live music and an open mic, sitting alongside the pub's quiz nights. It's strong on local Somerset ciders, locally brewed ales, craft beer and Pieminister pies, and it's very dog-friendly. With a house PA welcoming both original material and covers in an intimate, roughly 60-capacity space, it gives Taunton's grassroots performers a warm, regular Sunday slot.
