The Night
The Keg sits just off the square in Paisley town centre and runs an alternative open mic every Wednesday from around 8:30pm, hosted by Johnny Barr. It's a properly equipped room — full backline with acoustic, bass and electric guitars on hand — and the bill is genuinely open: musicians, comedians, spoken-word and the odd juggler all get a go. The regular crowd ranges from students to retired folk and is known for being warm to first-timers, so it's a relaxed place to try something out.
