About This Open Mic
The Night
Directly opposite the world-famous Cavern Club on Mathew Street, The Cavern Pub hosts the Monday Club every Monday at 8pm — an originals-only open mic hosted by local musician Ian Prowse, where covers are firmly not allowed. It's a platform for songwriters, poets, playwrights, comedians and other creatives to air their own work, and admission is always free. A genuinely special spot in the heart of Liverpool's live-music quarter. Find it at 5 Mathew Street, L2 6RE.
About The Cavern Pub
The Cavern Pub is the third venue in the world-famous Cavern family, sitting directly opposite the Cavern Club on Liverpool's iconic Mathew Street (5 Mathew Street, L2 6RE). Open seven days a week from 11am with free admission, it's a must-visit on any tour of the city's live scene. Every evening it comes alive with free live performances from some of the best musicians in Liverpool — covering everything from The Beatles to Oasis, Led Zeppelin to Stevie Wonder. Mondays bring the Ian Prowse Monday Club, a weekly open-mic night for original artists hosted by Ian Prowse at 8pm; live music also runs Thursday/Friday evenings and Saturday/Sunday afternoons. The walls are lined with Cavern Club and rock memorabilia, and an in-house PA supports both originals (Monday) and the venue's covers-led nightly sets.
