The Night

The Aristocrat on Wendover Road is Aylesbury's longest-running and most consistent open mic — it started after lockdown and went weekly by popular demand. It runs every Thursday from 8:30pm, now a music-only night (poetry and other categories have been dropped), and entry to perform is always free. The new landlords are pro musicians, with two local music teachers rotating the hosting. It's a cosy, friendly bar with a guitar mic and a drum kit or cajon provided on certain weeks, all through the house PA. Refreshingly, under-18s are allowed to play, so it's a good first-gig spot for younger performers. Find it at 1 Wendover Road, Aylesbury HP21 7SZ.
