The Night
A long-running folk and acoustic club meeting every Thursday at 8.30pm upstairs at the Crindau Constitutional Club on Malpas Road. The club alternates booked guest concerts with Singer's Nights, and it is the Singer's Nights that carry the open floor, so a performer turning up to play should aim for one of those. It is the main dedicated folk and acoustic institution in Newport and draws performers from across Gwent and the Valleys. Contact the club to check which format is on before travelling.

The Lyceum Folk and Acoustic Club is a long-running folk club that meets upstairs at the Crindau Constitutional Club on Malpas Road in Newport. It alternates booked guest nights featuring touring folk and acoustic artists with Singer's Nights, where members and visitors take the floor themselves.
