The Night

The Cambrian Inn is a traditional village pub tucked into the scenic Clydach Gorge near Abergavenny, at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, and it runs a friendly weekly open mic every Sunday from 5pm to 7.30pm. Entry is free and performers get a free drink. It's an unusually open-armed night — everything from acoustic, folk and blues through to poetry, comedy, storytelling and even sea shanties is welcome — with a kind, supportive atmosphere that's especially good for beginners. Sign-up is at the bar on the day.
