The Night

The John Peel Theatre is Wigton's intimate community theatre — a cosy 90-seat auditorium with a well-stocked bar — and it hosts what's billed as one of the friendliest open-mic sessions in Cumbria on the first Friday of every month. All acts and performances are welcome, there's an excellent in-house sound system, and it's completely free for both performers and audience. A warm, supportive night in a proper little theatre rather than a noisy pub corner. (The club also runs an occasional Zoom open mic for those who can't make it in person.)
