Hot Box runs its open mic fortnightly, on the first and third Tuesday of the month, programmed by the Hot Box Live community team. If you want to play or sing, grab a free Musician ticket through DICE in advance; spectators are welcome too. It's a proper small-venue stage rather than a pub back room, so it's a good early step up for newer acts.
About Hot Box
Hot Box Live is a not-for-profit community music venue set into the railway viaduct arches at 28 Viaduct Road in Chelmsford, right by the station. A proper independent grassroots room, it stages original live music alongside drag, comedy and poetry, and runs a fortnightly open mic on the first and third Tuesday of the month. A welcoming, DIY-spirited spot at the heart of Chelmsford's underground scene.
