About Grand Central Alt Bar & Live Music Venue
Grand Central is Manchester's premier alternative bar and grassroots live-music venue, at 80 Oxford Street near Oxford Road station. Steeped in heavy-metal heritage, it's been a 'second home' for rock and metal fans for decades — a no-frills, inclusive, jukebox-and-cheap-drinks room that hosts up-and-coming live bands every week. The programme leans hard into alt, rock, metal and punk, with live music on Thursday nights (plus occasional specials on other days), DJs, and a mix of original, tribute and open-mic acts. Open seven days a week. A welcoming, rock-loving institution for Manchester's alternative scene.
