The Night

The Bishop on the Bridge runs an open mic on the last Sunday of every month from 7pm, on the bank of the River Itchen in the heart of Winchester. It's a relaxed, welcoming night showcasing the city's local talent. You can book a slot ahead by calling Amelia on 07949 624690, or simply turn up on the night. Entry is free and there's a PA for performers.

About Bishop on the Bridge

The Bishop on the Bridge is a popular Fuller's riverside pub at 1 High Street, Winchester, sitting right on the River Itchen with a sun-soaked terrace and garden plus sheltered indoor beach-hut seating. It reopened in May following a five-week refurbishment, with a modern dining area serving pub classics, roasts and puddings alongside cask ale, craft beer, gin and cocktails. Music here is a relaxed weekly fixture: every Sunday from 4pm the pub hosts two hours of live acoustic music by the water — an easy-going slot ideal for solo acoustic performers and duos. With its in-house PA and roughly 80-capacity space, it's a polished, well-run room rather than a late-night gig venue.

Planning Your Sunday Night

Arrive early to sign up for a slot. Entry is free and the open mic typically runs until late. A PA is provided — bring your own instrument and amp.
