About This Open Mic
The Night
The Actress & Bishop is one of Birmingham's most established independent live-music venues, in St Paul's Square in the Jewellery Quarter. Its open mic runs on the third Wednesday of every month from 8pm, hosted by Joe Oakes, with free entry and a resident DJ carrying the night on afterwards. About Actress & Bishop
The Actress & Bishop is a lively independent pub and live-music venue at 36 Ludgate Hill on the edge of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter (B3 1EH). With a capacity around 600 across multiple rooms (plus an outdoor terrace and a refurbished upstairs event space for ~200), it runs live music and DJs seven nights a week with free entry downstairs all week. A go-to for local and touring bands across rock, indie and alternative — past bills include Black Foxxes, Krooked Tongue and PINS — it's one of the city centre's busiest grassroots stages.
