The Slade Rooms on Broad Street was Wolverhampton's city-centre music venue, hosting rock, indie, electronic and comedy for around 500 standing under Wolverhampton Council until it shut in early 2020 due to operational issues, and it has not reopened since. Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has since taken over the site, backed by a 2 million pound Community Ownership Fund grant awarded in December 2023, with plans to transform it into a community arts hub including a 250-seat studio theatre, a small performance studio, rehearsal rooms, exhibition facilities and creative business space. No public events are currently scheduled while the redevelopment progresses, so check Wolverhampton Grand Theatre for updates before approaching the venue about bookings.
