The Old Post Office is a 16th-century Grade II-listed pub and hotel at 1 Milk Street in Shrewsbury — the last of the five public houses once licensed on that street, and still holding many of its original features. It is a genuinely busy grassroots room: live entertainment runs four nights a week, with an open jam on Mondays, a quiz on Wednesdays, live bands on Fridays and Saturdays from around 9pm, karaoke on Sundays and a comedy club on the last Sunday of the month. Standing capacity is around 80, so it suits indie, rock, acoustic and folk acts rather than large-backline bills. A PA is provided; there is no in-house engineer. There is a function room for private hire and six guest bedrooms, plus cask ales and home-cooked food.
