About Cinema & Co
Cinema & Co is a grassroots music venue in City Centre, Swansea with a standing capacity of approximately 100. Bring your own PA, mics and instruments.
Cinema & Co books Indie, Acoustic, Folk, Film acts. Both original music and covers are welcome. This listing is part of the Swansea venue directory.
Cinema and Co was Swansea's only independent cinema, at 17 Castle Street in the city centre, and for a decade it doubled as a small-scale cultural venue - film screenings, late-night events, community gatherings, art exhibitions and live music, in an intimate room with a PA provided. It opened in 2016 and announced in April 2026 that it would close that summer after ten years on Castle Street, owner Anna Redfern saying the space had become unsustainable to run independently. The closing announcement was marked with a That's all Folks card dated 2016 to 2026. It is retained here as a record of a genuinely independent space that many in the city will miss.
